History of the Round Table
The North Curl Curl Knights Junior Rugby League Club is a foundation member of the Manly Warringah District Junior Rugby League participating in the first season in 1932. We are one of only two of the foundations clubs still in existence. Although Rugby Union in the Manly District can be traced back to the 1870's competitive Rugby League was not introduced to the peninsula until 1932, a period when the world shuddered under the chronic effects of the Great Depression. During a 75 minute meeting in the barber shop of first Junior League President Harry Bones on February 11, 1932 the Manly and Warringah Junior Rugby Football league was born.
Five weeks before the official opening of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The original A Grade clubs were, Brookvale, Manly Juniors, Harbord, Narrabeen, North Curl Curl and Dee Why. The B Grade comprised, Brookvale, Narrabeen, Harbord, Manly and Frenchs Forest. The club provides a great platform for your child to get involved in Rugby League, with a strong involvement in the local community, the club prides itself on it's long standing tradition and great family culture.
